Those of you who are reading Deb's journal might have read that our dog is sick, for those uninformed, she has(or maybe had at this point) parvo... something something technical. Dog parvo. A lot of people told us we should put her down, but we decided that the puppies that get it bad are usually younger, and affected much worse than our dog has been. Apparently young puppies that get parvo have severe reactions to their heart, weakening it, and leading to a significantly decreased quality of life(and a shorter life). She's been pretty active through it, so we think she'll pull through. We basically fed her electrolytes and took tons of care of her. Last night she started eating solid food, and isn't trying to sneak water so much, so I've been leaving a bit down(she used to drink so much water that she would throw up) About the only thing that I'm really worried about is the potential secondary infections(she hasn't been able to eat solid food for a couple of days, so I don't believe for a second that her immune system is 100%) and that I don't actually see her drinking the water that much. She's getting food and electrolytes still, so she's probably getting enough, but it used to be that all that could get her to get up was the possibility of sneaking water from somewhere.
Anyway, I think we're going to make it through, but I'd still appreciate prayers and hopes for no surprising developments or infections.
Thanks,
-J
P.S. Oh yeah, and Deb's girl is still writing for nanowrimo, but she hasn't posted in her live journal, so I should probably mention that she had her first typo related incident on the second day... her two characters were overwrought at parting and so KILLED each other instead of KISSING each other. I don't totally believe it was an accident, since the 'l' and the 's' key are pretty far apart, but I've made stranger mistakes in the past!
P.P.S. I haven't really done much drawing, aside from some character details, and working out what I want to happen. For what it's worth, I've always written in kind of a weird fashion, moving around details to a ridiculous degree and then writing in a frenzy of creative activity. It doesn't produce perfect results, but I manage much better consistency that way. (I tend to shift my voice and story intent if I write over a longer period.)
P.P.P.S. Deb added some new icons... this pic's from a while ago. Before There Will Be Blood, incidentally, and yes, I connected about 4 straws together. I only wish I'd been stealing a milkshake, because I like milkshakes, but I probably wouldn't have done it without libations anyway.
P.P.P.P.S. Yes, I'm adding this many postscripts because it's funny.
P.P.P.P.P.S. I probably took it too far just now. Kthxby!
