Guess who didn't have a stroke? And who doesn't have vasculitis? But who does have some of the weirdest-ass migraine activity her neurologist has ever seen OR read about?
My scans got changed from an MRA to an MRI and a CTA (higher res, apparently), and thanks to another attack on Wednesday night that necessitated a 911 call (but no ER visit, since I wasn't in imminent danger and so declined an ambulance ride), I got in a week earlier than scheduled. Everything turned out clear, and my apparent blockage was due to one vertebral artery being naturally smaller than the other.
However, I'm still limping and weak on one side from my "stroke." That means the migraine is still active--TWO WEEKS LATER. I can't drive, I can't be left alone for extended periods, and I freakin' HURT. Not always, since part of the migraine weirdness is that they don't always come with a headache. But they stick around. You know, for weeks at a time. And perfectly mimic strokes, complete with jacking up my systolic BP. That's completely normal, right?
Anyway, that's the status of things right now. I'm mostly annoyed. Damn migraines. Why can't I have the normal kind that just hurts a lot for a couple of days, then goes away?
On the up side, I have an awesome girlfriend,
seashadows, my cat is cute, tomorrow I get to dye the hair that I WON'T LOSE TO CHEMO, and I have very little holiday shopping to mess around with. YAY!
And now I need sleep.
