Planning Workouts on the Wii

I find I've gone through three phases on my Wii Fit Plus already since November 1) Fool around and play every game and activity. 2) Start zeroing in and playing the activities that I like and 3) Start to give greater thought to the activities that will give me the workout I want.

I really like the option to program activities to target the goals I want- leaner, tummy, hips, arms, etc.. I also like the full programs designed by the Wii Fit when you choose the goals you want to aim for, and the program just runs through a number of exercises and games in a row targeting that goal. It means I get some tough exercises I don't want to do (or can't do yet), but that's good, as it keeps me honest and focussed on effective exercise.

I'm getting to the point now where I'm trying to pick two or three goals (say, leaner, hips, tummy) and then pressing the option for two or three exercises at a time in each goal. My routines this week have been about twenty-five minutes, but I hope to make them longer as I get better at the exercises. For example, I'm noticing right now my balance is terrible on the yoga and strength exercises, so I need to focus on the early levels on them.

Is anyone else using the pre-set programs on the WiiFit? Is that working for you? Do you design programs of your own? (I haven't really done that yet, as I figure the pre-set programs know better than I do at this point how to target specific fitness goals.)
