Oh, lookit, a fannish post!!
I’m taking the day off, in order to supervise handymen and go do bureaucratic stuff and while I am waiting for them to show up, have some fannish opinions.
I finally watched Avengers Age of Ultron and Ant Man and I have opinions. (Sadly I am lacking in the feels department, because I am not terribly impressed with either of those movies.)
Firstly, I wasn’t terribly impressed with the Avengers storyline. I know we’re gearing up for Civil War and all, but seriously? They could barely talk to each other, let alone be in a room together (apart from that short scene at the beginning, which was delightful.) and what was that at the end? Cap couldn’t make it work with people who stand up to him and his views, so he lets them all go and just makes a new ‘Avengers’ team?? The fuck?
And I get that someone like Joss might think Clint needs a ‘redemption’ thing to make him likeable again in the viewers eyes after the whole Loki thing, but really he didn’t need it. And a farm in Iowa with a wife and 3 kids? I mean, John and Rodney made that work, but… oh wait. Wrong fandom. Do I care? I just felt it was too much. Maybe she should’ve been his sister or somesuch, like I’ve seen suggested on Tumblr.
And don’t get me started on the whole Ant Man is gonna take care of Bucky Barnes things. The actual Fuck was that all about? Sam, have you lost your marbles? I might like Steve and Bucky least of all the Avengers, but they do belong together (in any way you want to read that ‘together’).
God, and Ant Man. Seriously. Blergh. Firstly, I didn’t like any of the actors. The storyline was meh and I would never trust someone who doesn’t trust Tony Stark. I might be biased (hell yes I am, Tony is The Best), but Tony would have been awesome at helping out.
I am so not looking forward to Civil War. I want my superheroes living together, sharing breakfast and bedsheets and being happy.
Also, what’s wrong with Stark Tower as headquarters? Meh.
