It's getting to be that season, again. Tea for the common cold is in demand. I've changed the recipe a bit: lemon grass, lemon balm leaf, nettles, ginger root, lemon peel, stevia, blue chamomile flowers... maybe a bit of red pepper berry for extra kick, if need be. Hopefully including the sweetleaf will ward off last year's complaints of the bitter taste of the tea. The point is not to please the palate, but to soothe the throat.
I have all I need but the sweetleaf and the lemongrass, neither grow in this climate, particularly this time of year. I'm glad I reserved dried chamomile from the spring - it was popping up like a weed, then. For other ingredients, I may find myself traveling, again.
