Work and Play :o)

Diary: Week of 26/12: Work, London, Shopping and Dead and Buried :o)

My new job is going well. though it had a bit of a slow start.

On Monday I had no computer log in (et cetera) and thus couldn't actually do any work at all, and got paid to sit about and watch other people work.

On Tuesday I did some work on someone else's log-in whilst they supervised and told me what to do :o)

Wednesday I spend the first half of the day reading up on what I have to do in order to complete a very simple and easy test to 'qualify' me for doing what I'm supposed to be doing, then I actually got to start doing real work (though under supervision again)

Thursday I got to start working independently, and by Friday I was becoming familiar with what I have to do (over and over again) that it started to get boring... :oP

Will get me some money for Christmas though :o)

Further, because it's all non-face-to-face no one cares whether I have piercing jewellery in. By Tuesday I had put four rings in the ones I thought were likely to close, and this weekend I had the rest put in :o)

On Friday I headed down London to see sweetcyanide and go to Dead and Buried. It was actually 'dress down Friday' at work (and is every Friday apparently), which was odd. To be honest I'm comfortable enough in a shirt and tie I'd rather wear that to work. *shrugs*

Unfortunately there was a lot of faffing about involving buying a new railcard, going home, showering, eating, et cetera, so it took me a while to get down to London, which meant I couldn't meet up with Elegy_of_Flames and misterfallen like Elegy_of_Flames had suggested.

Meanwhile I enjoyed bits of Dead and Buried. Whilst not all of the music appealed to me, quite a lot of it I found personally danceable. The main problem seemed to be that it was a rather large venue for a rather small crowd, and thus felt a bit 'empty' with entire parts of the venue abandoned. It also had the (unfortunately common) problem of being loud enough everywhere that talking to people was a strain :oP

On Saturday me and SweetCyanide went down to Camden. I had plans to buy new boots and a new leather jacket. I found a leather jacket I rather liked, and some new boots that might be good (not fully decided), but alas they were both over two-hundred pounds in value, and I don't really have that sort of money :o(

Guess if I'm getting those it will be after Christmas...

Saw a piercer in a studio about putting my rings back in. She actually charged me for it, which is unusual, but not too objectionable but for the fact that she failed to get four of them back in (which I did later that day, although I couldn't close them myself... will be getting Aaron to do that...)

We watched the first season of Extras that night, and the second on the Sunday *nods* :oP

Then I started feeling rather tired and cold, as well as developing a little bit of a headache, all in time for a rather long train journey back home, which was made longer by a fatality on the tracks :o/ Blah! :o)
