Diary: Week of 11/12: Uni, Coursework, Maths, and Dungeon
So... last week of university... and I still managed to miss all my lectures on the Friday because I decided to go out to Dungeon on the Thursday, opps! I did still manage to go in during the morning to hand over my four coursework essays, only unfortunate thing is my email was down so I never recieved the reciept they were supposed to email me :o/ Have to chase that up I think.
Watched a film called Brazil at the beginning of the week which was rather good, although possibly not to everyone's tastes. It was a sci-fi comedy about a futuristic society where the civil service has become huge and you can't do anything without burrowing through a ton of paperwork, fairly well done I thought.
Philosophy of Mathematics lectures were good, well, the one I turned up to. We have moved on to Godel's Incompleteness Thereom, which I've become fairly interested in. Shall have to make sure to do plenty of reading on the issue as I might choose to write an essay on it come the examination period.
Had really intended to make it to Gamesoc this week, but again I failed... bit annoying as I still have my new leader character with Rapid Fire: Boltgun, but oh well... Read through my essays the same day I intended to go and ended up going home to make some last minute adjustments and get them printed just so I knew they'd be done and ready to hand in on the Friday, get it off my mind...
Though when I did print them all out I noticed to my horror I'd got some of the course numbers on the tops of the essays wrong and had to print them all off again... sorry trees!
Also, there's a new unit announced for next semester which means I can probably avoid taking the Ethics and Literature course, I can't remember the full details because I never got the email (damnit), but it looked interesting from what I saw of it.
Thursday at Dungeon was quite good with lots of people about, but I didn't do much over the weekend barring spending lots of time online and booking the coach tickets to go pick up
elegy_of_flames down London on the twenty-eighth, which should be fun :o)

INTJ -The Mastermind
You scored 0% I to E, 36% N to S, 66% F to T, and 31% J to P!
You are more introverted than extroverted. You are more intuitive than observant, you are more thinking based than feeling based, and you prefer to have a plan rather than leaving things to chance. Your type is best described by the word "mastermind", which belongs to the larger group called rationals. Only 1% of the population shares your type. You are very strong willed and self-confident. You can hardly rest until you have things settled. You will only adopt ideas and rules if they make sense. You are a great brainstormer and often come up with creative solutions to difficult problems. You are open to new concepts, and often actively seek them out.
As a romantic partner, you can be both fascinating yet demanding. You are not apt to express your emotions, leaving your partner wondering where they are with you. You strongly dislike repeating yourself or listening to the disorganized process of sorting through emotional conflicts. You see your own commitments as self-evident and don't see why you need to repeat something already expressed. You have the most difficulty in admitting your vulnerabilities. You feel the most appreciated when your partner admires the quality of your innovations and when they listen respectfully to your ideas and advice. You need plenty of quiet to explore your interests to the depth that gives you satisfaction.

Link: Reclaim every bank charge for the last six years
I'm rather eager to get this spread about as far as I can.
A while back I got caught out on one of those unpaid standing order charges, I tried to pay £5 to a charity when I only had £3 so they didn't pay it (I'm not allowed an overdraft) and then slapped me with a £40 fine for the priviledge.
Which of course put me into £37's worth of unauthorised overdraft which they then fined me £30 for. :o/
After complaining I got the latter charge recovoked, but they never did anything about the first.
They will be soon because I've since discovered that both charages are illegal.
Charges by banks have to be proportionate to costs. This means charging me fourty pounds for not being able to pay a standing order is only legal if it cost them fourty pounds, when in truth it cost them about nothing.
It doesn't matter that my contract agrees to the charge, a contract has to be written within the law.
So, if you want to reclaim every bank charge for the past six years then you can do so.
And here's a website to help you:
MoneySavingExpert.com They will even supply you with a template letter to fill out and send to your bank. You don't have to still be with the bank, and you can ask you bank to list every charge they've given you so you can then claim it back.
Have fun! :o)
