*goes to the chaise longue with a sigh*

*gracefully reclines*

*rings for some tea*

Ah. Peaceful, quite bliss.

Hi Nana.

*wants platitudes and reassurance*

Dearie! :)

*sits up straight and pats the seat next to me*

Come, come. You shouldn't be on your feet for too long now, you know.

*gives your shoulder a comforting rub*

What is it dearie? Are your ankles getting too swollen?

Oh dearie...

*pats your hand*

It'll be all right. Of course the pain will be like nothing you've ever experienced in your life... ever. But we she-elves have been having babies for over four Ages now, and we've all survived now, haven't we?

*smile reassuringly*

. . .

Worse than Silmaril pain?

Hmmmm...

*thinks for a moment*

Well.. not having experienced Silmaril pain firsthand, I couldn't really say. I suppose it would depend on which kind of pain you deal better with: a burning kind of pain or a 'trying to pass a walnut through the eye of a needle' kind of flesh tearing pain.

Oh dear... maybe the truth isn't always the best policy.

*hands you a cup of tea*

Now, now. There's nothing to be afraid of. Our bodies are made to expand. What's a little tearing here and there? And really, it's the foetal poo you should be afraid of

THE WHAT!?

*shakes, making the cup chink against the saucer*

*blinks*

Haven't you been reading the books I sent you?

If the baby becomes very stressed during labour or has loose bowels, it'll show its displeasure by defecating in the birth canal. Now of course, that in itself isn't much of a problem, but with the tearing...

*shudders slightly here*

Well, we have such good healers here in Tirion so it isn't a problem now, is it?

*smiles reassuringly again*

. . .

I can't do this.

Has already gone through and pain and messiness of childbirth many, many times.

*shrugs philosophically*

Well dearie, think of it this way.

*pats your protruding belly gently*

It's there and it's going to have to come out one way or another...

Don't you think it would be better to just accept that and relax?

What if something goes wrong? What if he gets stuck, or if he's breech...

*sigh*

*takes you hand*

Dearie, look at me.

Nothing will go wrong. I promise. Trust me.

I'll make sure of it.
