We just went to Cava with Keith and spent a solid three hours eating fantastic food. It was so utterly satisfying, and I have that groggy, sleepy, stuffed feeling that's just perfect. I'm going to bed with my headphones on and falling asleep listening to Beirut.

What did we three order?

Chipotle-caramel popcorn (twice)
Papas fritas
Pinchos of sea urchin, serrano ham, and pickled onion
Crostino of garlicky rapini, white bean purée and manchego
Torta of duck breast and anchovy
Picholine olive, green apple, fennel and red onion salad with apple balsamic vinaigrette
Charcuteria
Swiss chard with pine nuts and currants
Eggplant with queso fresco, honey and tomatillo sauce
Wild mushroom and fresh corn tamal with an ancho chile sauce
Papatas bravas with braised artichokes
Sardines two ways
Salt cod cake with piperade and chipotle crema
Veal sweetbreads with lentil-poblano ragout and sherry vinaigrette
Forty-eight hour beef cheek
Crema catalena foam with leche frita, raspberry compote and an oatmeal tuile
Warm ybarra chocolate cake
Plum granitas, cinnamon ice cream, Ontario strawberry sorbet
