Holy cow, it's a hurricane?

Where did this thing come from?  First I heard about it was around lunch time when I went to store to get lunch.  It was packed!  People everywhere.  Lines at the gas pumps backed up 6 or 7 cars deep for each pump.  I was a might perplexed.  Then, my phone rang, and the fire station I used to volunteer at wanted to know if I was interested in going to Galveston to help augment the reaction team.  I would have loved to, but my company made it clear that we're expected to use every resource to get into the office tomorrow.  I was even told that since I live only 2 miles away, it would be really helpful if I would be in the office (even if it means walking), so I can answer the phones.

What the hell?  I hate my job sometimes.

Oh well, I'm not worried about the 'Hurricane' (even though it's just a storm in my opinion).  I've got several cases of bottled water, enough canned goods to last me a month, plus I have the portable Coleman stove I bought my brother as a birthday gift.  Yep, even have propane for it.  Only thing I don't have a ton of is batteries.  I do have candles though.

Ciao ya'll.
