It is. I really need to learn how to keep it shut, and not just speak out when the moment takes me. I was in the parking lot at my friendly neighborhood Kroger's this morning, when I saw a guy smack his wife/girlfriend/hooker in the head. I, not stopping to think that he may have a gun or something, told him to knock it off and to quit hitting women.
Well, he started yelling at me in a foreign language, and gesturing at me. I told him I don't speak he language, since I'm in America, and just about everybody here speaks English. He kept on yelling and gesturing, so I started yelling and gesturing back. I probably would have ended up fighting this cro-magnon dude if a police officer hadn't pulled into the parking lot and drove over. He asked what the problem was, so I told him. He got out of his car and said something to the other guy, who then got into his car and drove off.
The cop told me to be careful, and despite my reasoning/justification for yelling at the guy, he said that that's what cops were for. He was actually very cool about the whole thing. He just told me to simmer down now, and remember that I (the citizen) pay him (the cop) to enforce laws and protect people.
I guess he's right, but it still irked me. He had a point though. I really need to quit shooting my mouth off at every little thing.
