When I worked in New York briefly in my youth, some of my colleagues at the performing arts center that employed me were European. Specifically, they hailed from Britain, Hungary, and Spain. The British folks occasionally yelled "Crimble!" on payday, because it was like having a mini-Christmas every time they got paid. :D
This whole holiday journey has been. . .strange. I've been keeping tabs on my people through LiveJournal, Facebook, and Blogger, and it seems I am not the only one who has had a less-than-awesome holiday week. I sincerely wish that, even though my holiday has been someone tainted, that everyone else's could have been great. For all those who have had a bad time of it I am well and truly bummed. :'(
I'll sum mine up with some images, because we have to get packed up and moving here shortly.
Since I was about ten years old, this is what Christmas is like:
This year, since we're in Florida, it seems to be a little bit of this:
Combined with a WHOLE lot of this:
And quite a bit of this, too:
Each image has it's charms, so I have not been overly Grinchy or anything. Like I said, it is all just very new to me. Even when we lived in Puerto Rico and Orlando, Mom always put up a "traditional" Christmas tree.
Whatever your holiday happens to look like, I really hope good things happen to you all today. Each and every one of you deserves at least a little bit of happy today.
All my love,
Manda :)
