Goals and Expectations for Individual Students:
Study victim mentality and how to overcome it
Understand the dynamics of sex crimes & sex offender typologies
Develop the mindset to use skills effectively
Use the power of voice and body language for boundary setting & de-escalation strategies
Learn to harness fear and experience the power of the female body
Learn through realistic scenario based training, including practicing full-force physical techniques against an assailant
Non-physical and emotional training:
Vocalization
Assertiveness
Boundary setting
Verbal negotiation
Identifying and then using weaknesses
Physical skill sets to be taught throughout the semester:
Strength training
Defense against an unarmed assailant
Defense against armed assailants, including blunt objects, guns, and knives
Defense against multiple assailants
Physical training will begin slowly and progress throughout the course of the semester, occurring in the order listed above.
