I am so tempted to play and publish a side, 10 generation, legacy.  I wouldn't do a plot or any kind of staging or anything other than pure observational chapters that will take the minimum of effort to write.  I just really want to finish some sort of legacy (as I don't see myself finishing the Discworlds any time soon) and it would hopefully ( Read more... )

Do it! Seriously, if it has crossed your mind more than once, then it is destiny. xD

Sometimes it's good just to sit back and play. Who knows you could get loads of inspiration which you can use for Discworld. I myself am planning on doing a OWBC of some kind just to spice things up.

All that matters is that you are having fun, darn it!

I'm doing it :D

It'll nice to be able to spend more time playing this than writing it (I hope).

You realize that there is absolutely nothing wrong with this? Staging and plotting get a bit much and sometimes it is just fin to play.

I do that with the Boreds and I limit myself to 100 pictures before I start writing. It works out well.

I used to play two legacies but quit the second when I decided I wanted to concentrate on just the Discworlds so I've been reluctant to start a second one again. But my founder is sitting on his empty lot so I have a secondary legacy again.

That's a nice idea, I might steal that if you don't mind.

Go ahead. I don't have a patent on the idea. It's just one to make sure I don't play too far ahead that I don't feel like writing. ^_^

I think having something you do for fun is a good thing. And documenting it makes sure that you finish it.

I think that's a wonderful idea! I don't have much time to write at all these days, but when I did it was really nice to have two challenges/stories going at once so if I got frustrated with one, or bored even I could switch.

I used to write for 10-15 minutes every time I played when I used to use thesims2.com albums for my chapters. I really miss that since I can never motivate myself to write every time I play now that I write the chapters in powerpoint. I've gotten to the point where if I take a particularly funny picture I'll write the caption in my notebook for the picture along with just notes for every other picture.

Either way you go, it's always fun to start a new legacy!
