So, I've decided to try, at least, being vegetarian for a while, since non-organic meat seems to be a major factor in my chronic headaches, and I'd like to do without those as much as possible, particularly in college. Well, vegetarian isn't quite the right word: I'll still eat free-range eggs and organic meat (when it's available), and milk without all the crap in it, and probably a bit of regular fish when I really need some protein. But I'm going to take a shot at being all about the vegetables.
Anyway, most of my meals thus far have been meat-based, since my parents are big fans of getting enough protein, and I'm sort of at a loss as far as what to cook myself now I'm cutting back on my intake of other creatures' flesh. I could look something up, of course, but just picking dishes off the web is so boring and tedious, I thought I'd ask you guys instead.
So what's your favourite meatless recipe? What recipe sites are you fond of? Are there any books I just have to own? Is there anything in particular I should eat to keep myself from craving meat? Raisins for iron, and so on?
Addendum: I have regular access to good eggs and milk, so I'll happily use those if I need them to make something. They're all cage- and hormone-free, and they don't seem to give me any lip in the form of crushing headpain. :D
