Birthday time: Disneyland, DCA, and Dole Whip: Three things that begin with the letter "D"

Sep 26, 2007 18:59

The boyfriend and two friends are whisking me away to my former place of employment tomorrow, for my birthday. September 27, it's a good day. The weather is supposed to be prime.

Maybe if some of my old former co-workers from California Adventure are still at the park (this is very likely, considering the frequency of "I started working here to get a prom dress, that was seven years ago" stories), they'll give me free churros and jalapeno cheese-filled pretzels. That would be a delightful 23rd birthday gift. Especially considering this used to be the place that paid me 7.40/hr to get heatstroke (you're allowed a cup of chipped ice if it's over 90 degrees, but you can't put it to your lips! God forbid the guests see you try to stay hydrated) the summer of 2004. Nothing says "America" like selling cotton candy and churros for 3.50 a pop.

Fortunately, I am very well-prepared for tomorrow's day of festivities, which will include imbibing strawberry margaritas and beer from the "adult" part of DCA, near the Fisherman's Wharf. Oh yes, and getting an authentic, valid Birthday Pin from City Hall on Main Street.

I have to say that Fast Pass is one of the few automated systems created for smart people, not idiots. Don't you agree?

I spent over 13 hours working on my recap of the season premiere of Heroes: "Four Months Later." Please, please do me the tiny favor of giving it a peek and leaving a comment to entice the users of TVGasm.com to leave more comments. I ask this because the last show I had to recap was the ABC-bomb "American Inventor." Unfortunately, the most popular show on the site right now seems to be "The Hills." Airheaded LA girls yammering about their sham relationships make for better comedy than a comic-inspired drama...but I try.

You know, editing screen shots is much more labor-intensive and tedious than you'd think!
EDIT: The recap link is slightly busted, as a ghost seems to have yanked the ridiculously long recap from the site, leaving only the entrails of 1.2 paragraphs and 2 images. Never fear, it will be fixed.
