It's Monday, so I hit the gym with my new "start the week by kicking my a**" workout.
Still couldn't quite manage a full sixty seconds on that last set of mountain climbers, but got in fifty. Better than Friday. Lunged the whole distance on the first set, had to work around a couple people on the second, walked the first ten feet on the last set. Also tossed in one extra stair run in the final set to make up for the missing ten seconds of mountain climbers and also because I had to go slower than I wanted on the way down the stairs, but it beats missing a step due to lead legs/feet. Had to put my hands on top of my head on the way down the stairs to help breathe, but I did it all. Limited myself to two minutes, max, between sets to catch my breath, and did take 5-15 seconds for a swallow of water before getting onto the treadmill on the second and third sets.
Got a high five from Jesse, one of the other trainers, in the middle of my workout today. :) Said hi to him as I lunged toward the trainers desk on my way to the stairs for the second set. He'd watched me lunging across the gym, saw how out of breath I was, looked behind me, over his shoulder, then gave me a confused look. Asked if I was having another training session with Wayne. When I said no, that I'd had it Friday but was doing my new program, he kinda boggled. "This is you working out on your own?? That is awesome!! That is high five awesome!" He's cute.
Sat for about five minutes after the last set to let my heart rate come all the way back down before trying to make arms into dead weight too. Did 10 squat-thusters with the 45# bar just for fun. Then grabbed the 18# body bar for the half deadlift/shoulder presses. Did two before deciding it was too light and grabbing a thirty pound barbell, then starting my 20 over again. That I felt! :) Skipped the box jumps for today, and also passed on the grapevines because there were people on the studio and I didn't want to bother them. I can always do them another day. Picked up the big bar again and did ten plain ol' squats, because I could. lol
Saw Wayne when I got there today. We talked about the new program and variations we can throw in. Told him I'd made him a big pile of food to bring today, but wasn't sure he'd be there or have a way to keep it cold. He was SO disappointed! Poor guy was starving today. So I called Hubby and asked if he could run it by on the bike. No problem! While I was calling, Wayne was signing a guest pass for me, in case I have visitors who want to work out. :) Got to prove to Wayne that my Hubby is not a figment of my imagination, like some people think my cat is. lol He was funny too. Hubby brought a paper plate and plastic fork along with and Wayne could not wait to get back inside and eat!! Scarfed down half of an 8x8 casserole in one sitting!! Said he'd be finishing the rest tonight and that I saved his life today by brining food. Cool.
Tomorrow is Hubby's b-day, so it'll be Mexican food all day long, topped with birthday cake and ice cream. Need to make sure I clear a full two hours for the gym tomorrow and Wednesday, maybe the rest of the week, to work off all the calories. Oh, and I really need to remember NOT to have black beans. Random gas while doing ab work is so not good. :(
