"Once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings infinite distances continue, a wonderful living side by side can grow, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole against the sky."
- Rainer Maria Rilke

In my darker moments, I've imagined that you were near by. Not next to me, but somewhere close enough to hear my cries.
When I sat alone at my campfire on the wild prairie, I could feel your back against mine as you sat in your world and I in mine.
In places where the membranes are thin, I can almost feel your hand hold mine as we traverse our separate plains.
In silent celebration, I can feel your eyes looking through mine when I stand at one horizon and look at the next.
For we are forever travelling, but never abandoned. I just need to close my eyes, and I know that you write your story alongside mine, step matched for step.
Our worlds are not isolated - instead, they overlap and fold over one another. In the joints and corners one can observe the other, and realize that we occupy the same space and time, only upon a different axis.
If you listen carefully, you'll hear me right beside you. If you stand still for a moment, you'll feel my hand on your shoulder.
Fear not, my friend, for although we are of different worlds, we are of the same soul material...
