In a dank dark alleyway in Voy City...

The dream always begins the same, my parents dumping me on this planet and then leaving me with a laugh and a see you in a few years kid. I was 4 and that was 20 years ago, and I haven’t seen those losers since.

Of course I wasn’t the only kid ever to be left behind for better and brighter things. I wasn’t even the only alien kid dumped on this dumb rock. In fact there were quite a few of us. Earth was like an intergalactic nursery. Every neglectful and desperate parent seemed to leave their kids here. Every natural disaster or cosmic event seemed to bring in new waifs and strays.

I shouldn’t really complain, I had what is classified as a good upbringing. I was found by a aerospace engineer and his wife while they were out rambling. Instead of turning me over to the authorities like they should have, Joe and Betty Torrent kept me and raised me as their own.

I went to a good school; I didn’t have many, well any friends and my strange facial deformity was a great source of amusement for my fellow classmate’s, one in particular. Jennifer Sevens. She took great pleasure in making my life a living hell. Still I excelled at academic pursuits, the only thing was so did that beautiful blonde bitch Jennifer Sevens.

Things got worse when I hit puppetry. While my classmates body changed for reproduction, they developed breasts (in the case of Jennifer Sevens' over ample ones), pubic hair, menstruation started along with ache and body odour. I to experienced these things, along with something else that set me apart, it seemed that my species had another few quirks that came with puberty, increased strength, a nice new shiny set of sharp teeth, brain growth, which was compensated for by a thickening of my skull. By the time I was 16 my head had grown by an inch and a half and several thick V shaped bone growths ran down my forehead, along with some seriously sharp chompers. As if my life couldn’t get worse.

Things got marginally better when I when I left school and went to university. It was the first time I discovered I wasn’t alone on this ball of dirt. There were others like me. Granted most of them where losers, which is why I think they were dumped here. The first I ever met was Harry Krib, he had the power to play any musical instrument perfectly, but favoured the clarinet. He could have made millions of his gift but he chose to follow his best friend around and to gain a degree in Communication Studies. What a tosser.

His best friend was also, for lack of a better word, a freak. His name was Tom Parks and I fell head over heels in love with him. Dumb I know, but he was cute in a big strong clumsy way. He was fun too, which was something I was sorely lacking in my life. Oh and did I mention he could fly and had the strength of six men? No, well it was hot.

It was the flying that really did it for me; the strength was just a bonus. Cause puberty had seen to it that my strength had quadrupled.

Our relationship went well, we met each other’s foster parents, it seemed that his parents had dumped him as well. Only unlike mine they hadn’t wanted to and still kept in touch, via some sort of Power Stones. Two years later we had our own place, and had purchased his and hers dressing gowns. It was a week after this he had asked me to marry him, and a week after I had said yes my world came to a screeching halt.

I can remember it like it was yesterday. We had just finished eating dinner when Tom suddenly announced that he had something to tell me. I can still see the sweet and stupid smile twisting Tom’s lips as he was suddenly wearing what was once his favourite glass of wine.

“What do you mean you’re dumping me?” I screamed at the top of my lungs, I didn’t handle rejection well. Must be something to do with my parents.

“It's not you Bella it’s me.” Tom said as he placed a hand to his huge barrel chest.

My jaw dropped at the cheesy, infuriating, and sickening line he had the gall to throw at me. Like I was some dumb blonde bimbo harlot he could just discard. “God...”

“Well not really, it is you; well it’s the fact that you’re not who I really love. I have found someone else Bella.” He sighed towards my death glare.

“Who?” I demanded, I hadn’t been bested since I was in University, but now it seemed that I was to come in second to another bitch once again. I had thought all that was over, I had moved past high school and my strange looks. I had finally found my place in the world, I had just started my own company, and I was going to make the world a better place. Funny how things turn out.

“An old friend of yours actually.” Tom said with a nod towards himself.

“Old friend? I don’t have any friends.” It wasn’t something I was proud of, it was just a fact. The only two people I had a long standing relationship where the people who raised me and I only ever saw Joe and Betty at Christmas and Birthdays.

Tom laughed and attempted to wipe the wine I threw at him from his face. “Well poor choice of words, look its Jenny.”

“Jenny?” I asked puzzled, the only Jenny I knew was that cow who was the envy of every girl at school and made my life a living hell.

“Yeah Jenny.” Tom shrugged and my eyes widened in horror as I realised he was talking about that Jenny.

“Jennifer Sevens?” I asked faintly. At that point I still held some hope that I was wrong that my old arch nemesis wasn’t screwing my fiancé.

Tom reached out and laid both his hands on my shoulders. “Yeah, look I really do love you Bella, it’s just Jennifer holds my heart.”

With a sharp smile he rose up and foot in the air and disappeared with a soft boom through the open window.

“I’ll hold them both before I’m though with you Tom, don’t ever come crawling back to me!” I screamed as I ran after him. I wished I could fly at that moment so I could go after him and make good on my threat.

First Jennifer Sevens had ruined my pathetic childhood, and then she ruined my adulthood by stealing my fiancé.

That was 4 years ago. Tom has transformed himself since then into the world’s saviour and me you ask? Well I took a slightly different route to world fame; the evil business is much more profitable. I would have my revenge and I couldn’t do that easily, it was going to cost a pretty penny to kill Tom, or as he is known to the gullible masses Fantastic Man.

God, the name still makes me gag, the stupid oaf couldn’t have picked a more self-indulgent name, and before you start thinking no, he couldn’t have picked it himself. He did.

Now I think about it, I had a lucky escape. Still no one messed with the dry and shrivelled heart of the Queen of Destruction and gets away with it. No one.
