It's so gross and hot here.
I went to Toys R Us today because tomorrow is Bob's birthday. My friends and I decided it would be funny to buy a SpongeBob Squarepants doll and sit it in Bob's chair tomorrow morning. I'm going to put the headphones on it and everything. :D
I haven't been in a Toys R Us in a long time, and was surprised to find that they've changed the layout of the store significantly. It used to be set up like a supermarket, two long aisles, one in the front and one in the back, and numbered aisles with signs, so you could easily find what you were looking for.
Not any more. Now, I had to find my way through a maze of ET, Star Wars and Harry Potter just to get into the main store. The aisles are now all slanted, so you can't see very far, and you have to walk around to find what you want. I was lost and scared. I thought I'd have to camp there overnight. I had no idea where anything was, and there were no longer any signs to point the way. Luckily, SpongeBob is popular, so he wasn't too far deep in the maze.
I hope other stores don't adopt this horrible idea that forces you to walk around and browse. It was very annoying.

I got my annual 4.5% raise today. Yippee! Now I can buy that mansion I had my eye on.
I posted for two more jobs within my company today also. One of the jobs is a lateral move, which is fine with me at this point. The other one is in the same department as the first one, but it's a two pay grades higher. My bosses told me to apply for both of them, although I don't feel I'm qualified for the second one. Mike told me to let that manager disqualify me, and not to disqualify myself. Good idea, i guess. Funny thing is that both jobs have the same manager, and I'll have to interview for both of them. I wonder if they'll just combine them into one interview. That manager is someone who also worked in the call center with me last year, so I'm not nervous about interviewing with her at all. The downside to both jobs is that they're in the other building, so I won't be able to see my friends as often. I guess I'd make new friends.
Oh well, no sense in worrying about it now.

Well, if you don't see me around here for a few days it's because it's so damn hot in this room, and there is no A/C.
