I originally started college @ 16 yrs of age (and boy, I got grief from my peers for it) and I started in Law & Security.
I changed my study to Native Addictions Counselling, majoring in psych & behavior.
Then I got married, pregnant and didnt go back to school til my kid was 18 months old...I left for 4 months and went to BC to study animal behavior therapy.
I am also taking Animal Sciences online.
Now, I will be going back to school soon....and I am fighting myself as to what I want to take.
I would LOVE a major in psych (double major animal and human)...but...
I have a really sick dog (one of the 3 vets I have been to think it is cancer). In the past 3 days he has had 2 siezures. He is only a year and a 1/2 old. I may lose him, and just for an MRI it is $2000-$2500 US (which I don't exactly have). And none of the vets are really certain what is wrong with him and this has only started within the past month.
I am really considering going and becoming a vet. Maybe one that specializes in neurology (it is still the brain right...kinda like psych, but not really). It is a sad situation...but if I lose him (which I really hope I wont.....it'll kill me to lose another dog), if I maybe become a specialist, then maybe I can help or prevent this sort of thing from happening to other people's pets.
I don't know what I should do....my whole family has always wanted me to become a vet.....it is definately being considered.
