Avery and I checked out two places in Middletown yesterday.
The first was from the Carabetta Agency out by Randolph Road (by Tommy's Pizza). On the upside it was a townhouse, had a nice private basement, was cheap, and allowed for a propane grill to be kept. "The upside" pretty much ended there. It was real small and pretty dumpy.
Later that day, we scoped out a condo located in the sea of condo complexes off of 372 in Cromwell (technically the address is Middletown but I always considered it Cromwell). The downside of this place is that it's part of a 12-unit building (a big three story rectangle, divided into quarters), doesn't have a basement, and can't keep a grill around. However, the downside stops here.
Last year the aforementioned condo had a fire tear through it, and it is just now opening up for occupancy. What this means for us is that everything is brand spankin' new. Carpet, walls, fridge, stove, dishwasher, heating/AC unit... pristine. It's on the top floor (hoorah for no neighbors above), has a balcony overlooking a little lake/pond/swamp, has a goodly amount of trees in the vicinity, and is pretty darn big (~950 sq ft).
So... Monday moving is happening. If anyone happens to be free and willing to donate some muscles to the moving cause, that'd be spectacular. And I'll give you ice cream, hugs, or icecreamhugs.
