Crazies

As I said a couple entries ago, I was going to write about the stuff I see in the parks that super annoy me.

1) I'm just going to address the idea of personal space. I realize that in different cultures, proximics can be different. However, when you are not from a different culture...and are thisclose to me, think about how there are OTHER people in the parks with you. Example #1, we waiting for a bus at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Duncan and I were sitting on the bench first. A family comes up and a lady sits next to us, no big deal, there was plenty of space. It gets weird when she puts her arm on the back of the bench like she's putting her arm around me. I gave her time to realize that I was right there, but then I laid back, because it was really making me feel uncomfortable, and then she said "oh excuse me!". Example #2, we are taking the tram back to our car at Epcot, on a near empty tram. There was a couple that sat in the row behind us, which is normal, but then sat directly behind us and the guy put is elbows on our seat back and put his head in his hands RIGHT BETWEEN US. His head was between mine and Duncan's, so weird!

2) Smoking. Disney is practically a non-smoking place, as well it should be, cigarettes really aren't safe in shoulder to shoulder walkways and not healthy regardless. However, Disney is nice and does make designated smoking areas for those that need them. I just don't understand why people CAN'T STICK TO THEM. Today, we were at Animal Kingdom and there was a family walking in front of us where the mom, who was real classy, was smoking. We past a group of college aged guys who told her it was non-smoking and this classy lady replied "Who are you, the park ranger?" See, what did I tell you, classy. ;)

3) While at Epcot, we were going on Imagination. There was a family of 9 or so in front of us and they told them rows 3,4, and 5. The people in the end couldn't hear the numbers, and I don't blame them, so they were going to go into the row that we were assigned too, until their sisters waved them over to the correct row. Granted 4 people in those rows can be a little tight, I will not understand why people think they can just go to a different row than assigned. I've never worked attractions, but that has to be terribly annoying. We had the blessing to be behind the parents or grandparents, not sure who they were, and they kept telling them that the bench behind them was empty, which they hadn't even taken the time to look behind them and see were sitting there. Yes, of course when there is a line there will just be empty seats. Sigh...

4) Lastly, we rode Spaceship Earth on the way back out. In the beginning, they say no flash photography, which is pretty standard in most Disney dark rides. We had a group of 4 behind us, with another family behind them who took multiple pictures of EVERY scene in the ENTIRE ride. The entire ride was full of flashes. It was so annoying, even though we've been on the ride tons of times. The crazy part is the group of 4 was 2 teenagers with their mothers, so they were fully capable of hearing the message. The others didn't speak English, and I'm not sure if they play the message in Spanish.

Rant over. More to come I'm sure :)
