There is something incredibly calming about water. Just the smell of the Chesapeake Bay. Salty, and welcoming, like coming home. The water here is awesome, today is quiet, there's a light breeze over the heat of the late afternoon. The water is lapping gently over the rocks, mostly.
Last time I was here it was last week, it was late, I was not in a great place and the bay was the escape I needed. There was a strong, harsh wind that blew over the water, chilling me. The waves were loud, roaring and crashing violently against the rocks jetting spray onto the boardwalk.
I come up here when I need to get away. There's something great and awful about today, I'm not entirely sure what it is, but the bay does.
