Going to the ultra cooled Carmike-10 here to see Public Enemies was just the ticket yesterday. The movie is a 2.5 hour time sink, but in a good way, especially if your into accurate period pieces. Depp did a great job of portraying John Dillinger. Likewise, Christian Bale did a good job on Melvin Pervis too. I'm just glad the director didn't delve into Jay Edgar Hoovers cross dressing antics. Whether or not Hoover was a closet fag or not will be debated for years. If your on the fence about seeing it......don't be. Go.
I always said that if I could have grown up in another era it would have been the roaring 20's,also the 30's. I mean, yeah it would have sucked ass to go through the depression, but factoring all that grapes of wrath shit out of the equation, it would have been great to be in that time frame. Men were men and women looked nine kinds of HOT! One thing I really dug about Public Enemies was when they did a close up of the old time Zenith radio's with the filament bulb inside the radio lighting up the radio dial. I also thought the POOF of the old time flash powder cameras was cool too. Glad I went. End nostalgic retroness. HAGO AATR
