Even Better

So the Battle Of Vineyards was a huge success. Over 40 people attended the airsoft event and it was a straight adrenaline rush. Only two of us made the event from Team PWNY Express and as the players started to file in we knew this was going to be a bit different than last time out. One team pulled up in a van and when they opened up the back door of said vehicle there was a peg board with three sniper rifles prominently displayed. Two players exited the van in Ghillie suits and that ramped up the adrenaline to the hilt.

Play started out with a Shoot'em Up game with a one hit and your out followed by some scenario games. The scenario games were great. There were eight wooden puzzle pieces scattered out over the huge playing area and your team had to retrieve each piece and bring it back to your designated base and reassemble the pieces into the jet fighter configuration. We got crushed in the first match then came back after swapping bases for the next game and pulled out the match with less than five minutes remaining on the time limit. I'm glad to report that the other team player that made the trip was the one to put the puzzle together and secure victory for the red team. I was very pleased with my outing with a +6 difference in kills to death with a final standing of 16 kills and 10 deaths. Some of the games had re-spawns which allowed the overall numbers to climb. Best move of the day: Taking out three enemy players attempting to cross a road from a prone position. Worst move of the day: Tripping over a stump root and going ass over tin cups, FAIL. Once more as the day came to a close, I was glad that I got into this hobby. Even with the slow start, you just new that it was going to get bigger down the road and sure enough, that is starting to happen.

We gave a couple of offers to some of the folks who were not part of a team at the event to join up with TPE. We will have to see how that pans out as we play more venues in the Newnan, Senoia area.

Off to Ranger Joes at Fort Benning GA later today to get some camo and a little bit of other gear. It's been a great weekend so far and hopefully that will continue through Monday. HAGO AATR
