People are idiots
I just told my old friend I was pregnant. You know what he said? First thing?
"Condoms......They are called condoms."
Generally, the tactfull thing to say is "Congratulations" you JERK.
You know what? Sometimes people have kids ON PURPOSE.
Does that mean people have the right to treat me like I'm either too stupid to use birth control, or too stupid to try and avoid pregnancy? He isn't the first person to treat me like I'm some idiot because I got knocked up. That includes friends and family members, a handful of people I thought would be happy for me, but decided their opinion was more important than mine, or my feelings. Sometimes people WANT to get pregnant. KNOW they want kids, and work for it. It's not like I just woke up one day accidentally pregnant. I have been trying for this baby for over 18 months! We knew how many kids we wanted, and how far apart we wanted them, since before we were married. That doesn't make me stupid, that just makes them assholes. That's like treating someone who doesn't want kids like they are an idiot because they should be popping out babies. Should people treat them like their stupid because they know what they want? No. But I get treated like I don't know any better because I WANT kids. Assholes.
Generally, I'm hormonal, vulnerable, and NOW I'm in kill mode. Anybody else makes a snide comment about my pregnancy, and they will realize the folly of talking shit to a pregger that owns a chainsaw. Bring it on, assholes. Make my day.
