And in other news....
Has it really been 4 months since I updated this thing?!? And here it used to be twice or so a day. I swear I am not this boggled. I am however busier than a 3 year old in a candy store. Here's the updates.. in no particular order.
1. All is well. Still working with my mom. Made it to shift assistant. No real raise. Just more... power. Per se. Work hours have been extended and with summer its just been a total bitch. Temperatures have been steady in the 100's to upper 90's.
2. More and more I am seperating myself from my mom's side of the family. Except for an uncle and a cousin, I dont want to associate with people who think its okay to treat my mom like trash. Its been a long time coming and after some of the horror stories I have heard it is surprising my mother came out a full functioning, fairly mentally capable adult.
3. I am playing Ragnarok Online now. For one, its free and two its fun. Not as addictive. As most of you know, I dont have that addiction bone or something. Especially when it comes to video games.
4. My niece turned 6 yesterday. Which is amazing. Not that she turned 6 but I cant believe that much time has gone. She's just as feisty as her mother. Red hair and all. And the best part is... She likes Doctor Who!
5. I still have a love/stalker thing with Neil Gaiman. And even though I have American Gods, I want to get the new 20th Anniversary edition book.
6. Been going out with grimmy23 once a month for movie and sushi and girl time. Or what I call... "Stress Free Days". Or what one co worker called.. "Niki's Reset Day so she doesnt Kill Us..." Latest movie? X-Men: The New Class. Omg.. a good movie. And if you havent seen it and is a fan of the X-men series? SEE IT.
7. Been reading A LOT. My goal is 100 books by the end of the year. Its June and I am barely over half. 53 books I believe. Im on goodreads.com if you want to sign in and find me.
8. Been using facebook... A LOT. Its one of those social medias I can delve into with uber geekiness. I have transformed my fastfoodlackey.tumbr.com blog into just random reblogging and fun things. Mostly Doctor Who/Primeval/Geeky things.
9. I had stopped eating red meat around my birthday last year.. (December 2010) but just recently I have returned to the cow eating world. Having to dredge through my body getting used to it again. But its all fine and dandy.
10. I am in deep adoration of someone awesome and amazing. Its love so dont judge me. Anyway, I met a guy through a chatroom. I shall call him Var. He's in the Army and currently in Iraq. We have been talking for about 2 months. I kept it secret from family and friends for awhile because honestly, what would anyone say if someone told you they met their boyfriend through a chatroom? He's 8 years younger than me. *waits for laughter to subside* Yes.. yes.. Ive already been called a cougar. But I dont know if this will blossom or fizzle. But why shouldnt I try? I will never know until I try.
Var makes me laugh and blush and dream and want to better myself. I think about him all the time and cant wait to talk to him when I get home. We have talked about meeting when he comes back in January and I do hope it all works out. I found out he's a bit of a geekstar on the web. And as one friend said... "He's PERFECT for you!!!"
All in all, life is okay. Other than hot and horrible outside.. its been pretty okay.
