Post, Presents and Playing Silly Buggers
Today I got post for the first time in over a week when Freedom’s birthday present arrived. It has pretties and cute stuff and tentacles. Also Sherlock Holmes. Directly related to the tentacles. Tis true, got my train ticket and everything.
A) My OTP- Arthur/Merlin. Because they’re all kinds of ridiculous and gay and insulting towards each other. Did you really expect otherwise for this?
B) The runner up- Uther/Merlin. It’s all kinds of hotdirtywrong but Uther needs love too, and as he’s slowly losing control of Arthur he takes it out on Merlin instead XD
C) The anti-ship- Merlin/Morgana. I just don’t get it. Morgana is hot and awesome, Merlin is adorable and all kinds of kittenish when he’s wet. Together I want them talking about magic and being platonic soul mates, not being romantic. Although considering Merlin half killed Morgana last time I doubt they’re about to run off into the sunset together
D) My unpopular fannish opinion on said character- Merlin seems to be losing his chances with Arthur every time there’s an opportunity for the magic reveal, and with it a little bit of my love for him. it’s like watching all the awful moments in Clark and Lex’s friendship on fastforward. Is it wrong that if the reveal happened now I’m not sure I’d care?
E) One person he/she never fell in love with, and why- Gwen. Darling, foot-in-mouth Gwen, who was the first person to try and befriend him who wasn’t put off by his apparent idiocy. Who Merlin had so many adorable moments with where Gwen liked him and he was too dense to notice, and then it was too late (and I’m still not sure he’s noticed) Of all the het ships it’s the only one I might go for and it’s the only one that was doomed from the start
