(no subject)
:\ my computer is dead. AGAIN. Back to using a friend's ancient computer that barely runs the internet. T_____T (but at least it works!) And my car's back in the shop. Oh, technology. Woe is me.
It's bloody hot over here. And I've gotten to the point where I'm a little less excited about what I do understand in Japanese, and a lot more frustrated about what I don't get yet. I'm at the point that the gramar's as good as its gunna get for a while (which is still far far far from perfect, but...), so basically I need to build vocab and learn to read more kanji but it's tedious and slow and i wish the sleeping on textbook osmosis thing actually worked.
The kids at school are a little less genki too. Everyone's wilting in this heat. It really isn't the heat though so much as the humidity. I stick to my desk at work and have to pry myself off of it when it's time to go to class. Of all the countries not to have airconditioned schools... The humidity has everyone kinda on edge. I keep being pissy for no real reason, and one of my kids actually punched through a window (no one knows why. he's a really good kid, one of my favorites) and hurt himself horribly. :( I saw his arm cuz he came into the teacher's room, and it almost made me sick to my stomach. I hate it when other people get hurt. not that I particularly like it when I get hurt, but then at least I know how much it hurts, and my imagination doesn't run wild.
Looking forward to coming home though! ^__^ It's gunna be a blast! I'm planning to eat mountains of mexican food and I need to go shopping hard core style. Anyone want to come?
Also, we had dry curry and nan today for lunch. gods school lunches here are deicious. Granted the seaweed salads and egg-filled fish with heads you eat (not to mention natto which is the dumbest food EVER XP) might have been a bit of a turn off when I was younger, but there's soooo much yummy to be had. Why do american school lunches suck? Hey, and because American school lunches make me think of gross hot dogs with green spots on the inside that we experimented on very scientifically...who won Nathan's hot dog eating contest this 4th of july? XD
