So some of you already heard but just to update everyone together here. This was quite a week. I was in Berlin last weekend for a conference done by Americans for Informed Democracy. Really a cool group and I met some awesome people there. It was a group of students from all over Europe mostly, studying abroad. I then came home Sunday evening directly to a Christmas party for our program and immeadiately had to take Leif to the hospital with the Director because of stomach pains. 5 hours later they confirmed Leif's appendix was shot and removed it. Thank goodness. So he spent two days in a german hospital with a flood of visitors bearing gifts. Now he's staying with his "big sis" from the program and enjoying her amazing cooking. He's healthy and recovering nicely altough no more Tennis for the next two months or any kind of exercise. He was doing so well too. Aunt Neil came on Wednesday to stay over Christmas so we've been enjoying going out and exploring together. Saw the craziest version of the Magic Flute too. It was soo modern with crazy neon lights and costumes. Can't describe it well but there it is. Last night was spent finally getting to know some of the people on my floor at our Advents party. A guy from Kazakhstan (sp?) lives here and I had no idea. German is getting to the point of understanding a little over 60% of what is said. So this week has been busy, emotional and involved, but it ends well with my Aunt here and a healthy Leif.
