My computer is near dead. It gives me a black screen and says "disk read error" and I'm supposed to "push Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"...but it goes back to the black screen. Boooooo. :( I knew the time would come when that piece of shit died, but I was hoping that it would come after I graduated. *sigh* Such is life. I might be able to take out

If that is not the problem the I suggest the following:
Do you have the OS discs that came with the computer? The might say something like "recovery discs" or "ghost discs" on them. If you have them all you need to do is put the first one in and restart the computer and follow the instructions on the screen. Of course doing this means you will lose all of the information on your hard drive, but you cannot really access it right now anyway. If you are concerned about saving the information on your hard drive you can take it to a computer place and ask them to pull it out and make it an external drive.
If the hard drive is dead though none of this will work in the first place. Good Luck!

I guess North Webster has a Dell store now? So since I'm going home for a day or two next week I'm going to drop that off. There's just too much on my computer to risk losing all of it.
Are you still around the area, or did you move away??
