( Carousel ) written by liketostopthen, is a Colin Mochrie/Ryan Stiles fanfic based on a chance meeting in 2007 during their respective improv tours. Haven't seen each other for two years, the onslaught of emotions and feelings is almost too much to handle for both of them, but especially Colin. Told from his point of view, Colin tells the reader from four instances in the past where he and Ryan had sex, and how this seemingly fuck-buddy thing between two lonely guys turned into more in the span of 30 years of friendship. Being in denial about his own feelings and the consequences of their actions, Colin rejects Ryan after their fourth night together in 2005 (first night: Vancouver 1978, second night: London 1992, third night: LA in 2003) and starts avoiding him all together. What Colin doesn't know is that Ryan fully gave up on his marriage because the thing between them just wouldn't go away. And tells him so. Colin later acknowledges it's that Ryan is anything but a coward about his feelings which is the reason why he finally gives in.
The mix covers little moments of sadness, rejection, denial and longing during the two years apart without any contact whatsoever and how Colin is finally realising that it's Ryan who he really wants. Carousel might be one of my top three fanfics in this fandom and this mix is dedicated to roseofpain84 who wanted me to make a mix for this fic for forever :)
