Still here! For now, at least.
That was a scary bit to leave off, wasn't it? Posting that I was about to undergo open-heart surgery within days, and then...
Nothing.
Today I waited at my bus stop when I realized what the date was, and said to myself, "Wow, it's been six years now, today." Suffice it to say that the surgery was successful. I was able to get a biological valve rather than a mechanical, and was only on Coumadin for three months. Short stint of cardiac rehab (which I honestly loved), and then I went back to work.
And that's all I really have to say right now. Except...going through the COVID-19 world-shutdown feels like the 3-month, post-OHS recovery period writ large.
The weather today is almost as lovely as it was that early September in 2016. Isn't it a wicked good world?
More later, when I figure out how I want to proceed with this blog. I'll try to write sooner than six years from now.
