Summer 2009: Summer, Never Ending Summer

Sep 07, 2009 11:04

I never post here anymore but I want to recap this summer slightly.

My earliest memory of the summer was in May, going to the Cheesecake Factory with Billy, Christina, and Marcela and wishing her luck as she left for Ireland. That was also the week that Biology started and I took 10 weeks of summer classes at Post.

Lots of adventures with Marcela and Billy. Then Christina came home and there was minute drama that was blown over and then lots more hanging out.

Some random summer excursions:

-Vodka and Fruit Punch in water bottles around Nassau Shores, going to Bayfront, then to the diner, then laid on someone's lawn staring at the stars with Christina only to wake up with grass in my hair and my face and hands stained with red.

-Mets Adventures! Two games in one week. Both ended at McQuade's. After the first game we went back for beer and wings and after the second game we had some food (and I had a Vodka Sprite in a pint glass = vodka on the rocks)and then Billy and went running and had an awesome conversation while walking around Nassau Shores. The second game is also when it rained and we ate nachos in the stairway.

-During one of our routine 1 am chats, Christina asked me if I could drive her to Peconic which turned into Summer 2009 Road Trip. Drove to Peconic, picked up Sam, dropped Sam off, then went into Greenport, then back to Sam, then we decided to have dinner at Puttanesca and began the drive into the city. We drove in a crazy rain storm but by the time we parked the car the rain had stopped and we had a lovely dinner. We ended our adventure at McQuade's with wine.

-Lots of McQuade's adventures: starting with the first one of the summer where I nearly died from too much Cafe Patron; then many visitations by Billy for tidbits; then a fun visit by Christina and Hailey where we planned our scavenger hunt; then a visit from Billy, Marcela, and Drew - when Billy had to follow me home so I could get changed; then a great visit by Billy and Jack where we ended up staying at McQuade's until 3 am after I finished work at 10:30. Great chats with Sir Peter!; then to a fun visit with my cousin and his friends and Shira and Christina with Billy walking in on a mess. (Oh yea, working at McQuade's was good this summer too!)

-Going on an Old Westbury Gardens photoshoot with Lufa (see the pics on facebook) and then working there for a day. On this same day I went to my aunt's block party and discovered the wonders of Grey Goose and Lemonade Mix in a blender. Good times.

-Songs of Summer 2009: She Wolf (Shakira), You Belong with Me (Taylor Swift), I Gotta Feeling (Black Eyed Peas), Never Ending Summer (311), Summer Girl (Jessica Andrews)

Even though the end of summer is always depressing, I had an absolutely amazing summer (probably up there with Summer 2004) and I feel a sense of closure because I know that I really enjoyed every single moment of it. I'm excited to start school and get back to Post and see people I haven't seen in a while and get back into a routine.
