summer_of_giles team up anyone?
Yet again, I've signed up for the annual summer_of_giles and I have an idea but it's kinda unique and I just can't imagine taking it on alone. Well, it's been done very successively in a different and wonderful way through polls. However this would take an alternate approach. I've already signed up for 2 days but I'd like to do a larger project with Giles fans of different types in hopes to perhaps post at the final day.
Okay, there is a choose-your-own adventure web-based program that enables you to create a story as a choose-your-own adventure type "game". What I ultimately would like to do is work with a group of other writers who will help write the different "branches" of the fic. Those "branches" would themselves branch out. I'm thinking of recruiting the following shippers (though we don't really need shipping) to add a variety and bring the Giles lovers all together in one project.
Giles/Buffy
Giles/Ethan
Giles/Willow
Giles/Faith
Giles/Anya
Giles/Spike
Giles/Angel
Giles/Jenny
Giles/Oz
Giles/any/original character
And/or I'd love to have those who prefer to write angst, comedy, smut, crack!fic, rom/com fic, etc. So basically, include everyone who is interested.
What I would do is tackle some sort of branch but also code and add some graphics to the pages displaying the story on my own site since it's already sitting there and not being used much. Credit will be posted clearly with any links the writer wishes included in the story. Other artists are, of course, invited to join in and add graphics to their part or others. Through participation you would obviously be able to link to the story on my site. I've not used this particular program before but it does seem fairly user friendly. The basic idea is to write a fic that joins all types of Giles lovers. This could be a huge project so I'd love help of any kind but I also think it would be wonderful as a inclusive exercise for us.
If no one is interested, I will probably do a simplistic version to see if it is something folks like for curiosity sake.
