An application is a little program that runs on the iPhone. Since anyone can make one there's all sorts of stupid ones like this. Usually they don't get any attention...except maybe iFart. Unfortunately, the only thing this press is going to do is make a bunch of 18-22yo males buy an application that would have otherwise known nothing about.
I guess my interpretation of an application is more traditional rather than how the term is used more widely today. I thought an app was suppose to accomplish something but I suppose entertainment falls under that category, even though my opinion of the entertainment value may not match those who use it.
It actually strikes me more that I was bothered by this but giggle when Eddie Izzard does his Crazy Eddie routine of putting babies on spikes. Perhaps I'm losing my twisted side.
With the Crazy Eddie thing there's context. We know it's a stand-up routine and he's playing a 'character'. With the baby shaking thing we don't know the makers from Moses and it's natural to think the worst in such a situation. Honestly, they are probably good enough people...just seriously miswired in the good taste department.
I appreciate twisted humor but this seemed a bit too tasteless for me. However, Eddie Izzard putting babies on spikes still tickles me so I'm still freaky that way.
Yeah, its a useless app and someone was profiting from it. I think that is what bothers me most, that someone can actually find folks to purchase such a thing.
