In case anyone else has the song stuck in their head:
Take the Long Way Home.mp3 I really enjoyed it and while I was slightly spoiled (completely my fault) I didn't expect Gene to be the one there for Alex after the bomb. *slaps self* Perfectly executed, the silhouette of him taking girlAlex into his arms and carrying her into the station, just as he did with adultAlex episode one. And her spinning around with up-angle camera shot toward the checkerboard ceiling. Loved it. And the "I was needed" line, THAT is pure Gene and why I love him. Gene is a fantastic character. I haven't been this taken with a character since, well you know who. The writers and Philip should take a bow for somehow making us love him and even poking fun at us for it. I will be rewatching again and again and can't wait for season 2.
And for those like me who haven't a clue about those puppets in the early episode, this might give you a giggle. It did me. Link courtesy of
merrycalliope who I believe doesn't watch Ashes to Ashes and just happened to point this out to me. Weird psychic connection we have, eh?
