Wallpapers, Banners and icons... oh my!
Thanks to the generous post by redkoros over at jekyll_bbc (if you're a member and logged in you can see the post here), I've been having fun. Much too much fun and decided to jot down a few notes along with the graphics. These are the first round of graphics based on those originals. I have more coming for the others. Feel free to ignore the blah, blah. After all, I know what you're really after.

First two, I wanted to try for a classic horror/glamor movie poster feel where Claire is the center of emotion so I toned down Hyde quite a bit. *shrug* Meh. May have to play with this one again.

I was fiddling around with stain and splatter brushes and a devious idea popped into my head. Wah-lah.

My first attempt to "touch up" an excellent shot of Hyde (seriously guh photo). First things first, I corrected the odd coloration caused by lighting on his forehead. Well, kinda. Then I want mood and tons of it so shadow up everything and exaggerate the light and shadow. This version turned out a bit too "smooth" for my tastes. That's why there is another version of it below.

Another guh-worthy photo that needed a little attention to correct the noise. Again, extreme shadow/light adjustment (can you see a trend in my tastes?) Balance out the black to blend with the black backdrop.

Okay, second round with guh-inspiring original. Re-correction of odd coloration on forehead and the usual shadow/light tinker. But I like scruff and sharp contrast so I tried my best to keep those pores, hairs and eyelashes this time. I also added a couple little touches I hope no one can spot which means I did well.
