Cats is over and I have nothing to do. xD I'm such a workaholic.
I'm currently working with two of my ex school-mates and their third-year-recitals. One is doing Peter Pan and I get to do a duet with her (Yes, Peter is a girl-role, a real lesbian love-story, huh?!) as Captain Hook (I get killed ;_;). And another school-mate is doing Cabaret, and I'm playing the EmCee there.
Those two roles are relatively close actually. Both are perverts and full caricatures. And doing them is so much fun! However, I try to keep them as far from eachother as possible. At least that'll make this work more interesting for myself. Since it's not my recitals, the teachers are of course focusing on their pupils' work, not mine, so at least I have some goal for myself there. Especially since the recitals are on the same day and the audience will probably be the same. Who would like to see a guy doing two different roles in the same way.
One thing I've always wondered about the EmCee, is that why is he speaking English with a German accent? Of course that makes him sound somehow more grotesque, yes. *shrugs* But somehow I see that character as a full chameleont, capable of being whatever and whoever he wishes. So I've been practicing the 'Willkommen' song with perfect pronounciation to all three languages (English, German and French - and of course Finnish, since we're doing the recital in Finnish). The hardest part is the 'Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome / in Cabaret, au cabaret, to cabaret!' where I should pronounce the word cabaret in three different ways in three different languages. x)
They took more pictures of us Cats dancers with costumes and make-up last Wednesday. I hope they get the pictures online soon, so I can give you a link! <3
And I finally got the Spamalot Soundtrack. XD;;; I SO WANT TO SEE THAT SHOW!!!
