*listens through "Loathing" from Wicked (originally 'What Is This Feeling')* I want more songs from this show, dammit...! This is the only one I've come across... Just read the FULL synopsis yesterday, and... I WANNA SEE THE SHOW!!! T_T Maybe I could just wrap myself with brown paper and send myself to the US on snailmail?
We had an amazing Master Class from Cary Libkin, the head master and founder of the Penn State University Music Theater Department. It's crazy how much good acting helps you singing-wise. All the high notes, long phrases, everything - suddenly it's all easy and light to do. And it was really nice to be treated as an actor when singing, 'cause too often (at least here in Finland, but I understood that it's very much like this also in the States) the directors just skip songs, though they really should be dealed as monologues, since the songs in musicals are also turning points of the plot. Just like the crazy American man said: "Songs are inevitable. And when they have been sung, nothing is going to be the same ever again."
*counts* "Loathing" for the 4th time in row... Maybe I should switch it to some other musical song. >>; This day seems like a good cry-day as in "I WANNA DO THIS SHOW~!!!" T_T;;; ...probably this small hang over is just helping me feel so bloody emotional. Well, no "At The Ballet" or "Hopelessly Devoted To You" for lil' Wicked this morning. ^^;;;;
