I love the kitchen in our new appartment. It's big. You have room to make food there... <3

I did some makaroonilaatikko (basically pasta, chicken hamburger and cheese made in the oven) yesterday, and am really excited to make more basic 'home cookings'. And for some reason I've been craving to eat potatos for a while. Maybe I should just go and ( Read more... )

I'm planning on making makaronilaatikko today! :D We even had a discussion about it in Gaia. Anyway, interesting things you put in it. :P I do a more traditional laatikko, though I replace minced meat with crushed soy grains.

hamburger (am.) = minced meat (eng.), and since I don't eat red meat, I use either turkey or chicken hamburger. And of course you have to have cheese on the top! @_@ Otherwise it gets all hard and crunchy and tastes burned...

Ahh. I was kind of... suspecting that you wouldn't put real hamburgers (hampurilaisia) in it... :D

Oh, no, I never use cheese (though it could be fun to test it some time). The top is supposed to be hard and crunchy, but not impossibly hard of course. It's fun to eat it. :) And mine doesn't taste burned... imo. :P

Well, makaronilaatikko is one of those dishes you eat like you mother has always done it, who probably learned it from her mother and so on and so on...
