Lazy Sunday...I had planned to get out and do some shopping, but it's almost 4pm so it looks like that isn't gonna happen. I dunno, I don't really need anything, so why fight the crowds? I'm not one of those people who stocks up on wrapping paper and Hallmark ornaments at 50% off for next year. A friend just emailed me and mentioned that Yankee Candle was having a big 50% off sale, but even that just sounds kinda so-so, because I got a few candles for Christmas already.

I *do* plan on hitting up Bath & Body Works on my lunch hour tomorrow, because their big bi-annual sale starts then...they've always got their glycerine soaps on sale for $1, and a bunch of other retired or soon to be retired products for really cheap. I'm a B&BW junkie...can't get enough. My male co-workers are always commenting on how good I smell, so it must be working, haha...

I didn't mention what my husband got me for Christmas. We were bad and actually opened our gifts on December *22nd*. He is always nagging me every year to open them early, and I wasn't going to give in, but I knew that from the 23rd to the 25th I/we would be super busy and running around, and I like to have time to just relax and chill when we do our gifts. That night we were having the couple who want to buy our home come over to sign some papers and leave a deposit (more on that later,) so I had cleaned up, turned on the tree lights, sprayed apple cinnamon air freshener all around, and put Christmas music playing softly on the stereo. So the scene was pretty much set, and I said, "let's just open them now!"

He got me:

1.) white gold and diamond hoop earrings
2.) sterling silver link bracelet with 2 dangling heart charms
3.) gift basket from B&BW full of Cotton Blossom products
4.) "King Of Queens" seasons 1 & 2 on DVD
5.) "Best Of Will Ferrell SNL" 2-disc DVD
6.) Framed pictures of himself, me, and two of our cat, Tigger.
7.) one of those really squishy nylon pillows that you see everywhere, in the shape of a neon pink pig.

The earrings and bracelet I had printed out pictures of from the website, because he sometimes is not so good at determining what I want and gets the wrong thing. The pig pillow I had asked for as well, I love having a bunch of little pillows with me when I sleep. The DVDs were a surprise, but I had mentioned that I like "K.O.Q.", and Will Ferrell I guess because I told him I like the movie "Elf", I dunno! The B&BW stuff...I love it, but he had just gotten me that huge gift set two months ago or less, so I still have plenty! I use it every day, so it's cool though. I *had* put down the perfume "Beautiful Sheer" on my list and didn't get it...so I may have to get some myself cause I was kinda counting on it, hehe.

I got him:

1.) Star Wars trilogy DVD set
2.) Darth Vader light saber: this is one of those "Master Replica" dealies I have mentioned before that we got in at work...$100 each, but they're fucking cool if you like that kinda thing...the light kinda shoots up the tube all realistic-like, and it's got digitally recorded hums and sound effects when you move it around and turn it on. This was a HUGE hit...he actually said it was the best present he's ever gotten! The kid in him, I guess. I thought he'd think it was cool, but he LOVES it. It's so funny cause when we got them in at work I thought nobody would pay $100 for one, but they FLEW out. Huh. AND, if you can believe it, one was not enough for Mr. I-Gotta-Have-Everything...the next day he made me buy a Luke Skywalker one too! The Darth one is red and the Luke one is blue. He's got them all displayed and everything...craziness.
3.) Black Oakley "Straight Jacket" sunglasses
4.) Leatherman "Wave" multi-tool
5.) Big Mouth Bass picture frame (this was a last minute throw-in, and he loved it too...go figure. It looks like a Big Mouth Bass and has a spot in the middle for a pic.)
6.) NHL daily box calendar.

I think that's it...we went all out...but if we wind up getting the new house we are trying to buy, we won't be able to spend all wildly anymore. I will find out more this week...but basically, my husband got a bug up his butt to buy a better house and we found one we love in Lakewood, CA...it's a lot smaller than where we are now, but the neighborhood is great, and the house was the current owner's childhood home so there's a lot of TLC in it. The bad part? It's $470,000...the price of homes here is insane. When I think of what kind of house that much $$$ would get you somewhere out of state...but we are pretty much committed to staying here, his job and all our family is here. Our offer on the home got accepted, but contingent upon the sale of our home: verification and acceptance by Jan. 6th of the couple who want to buy it, and then Escrow closing in 40 days after that.

The day we saw the house in Lakewood, we hadn't even returned home yet before my husband had clients lined up to buy ours. They are a super nice couple, make about $100K a year between the two of them, and have decent credit. My husband just has to get them financed. We are hoping to get a profit of between $70-80K for our home. I hadn't wanted to do this initially, because our home is beautiful...it's old but when we got it a year & 1/2 ago, we put about $20K into renovations. It’s just not in the greatest area, and not where you’d want to be if you’re going to start a family (because of the public schools). The couple fell in love with it though...the first day they saw it, they were talking excitedly about where they would put their furniture, etc...it's all just happening so fast!
