character; Kimahri Ronso

series; Final Fantasy X

age; 25

class; Well he's a Blue Mage and a Dragoon. So I'm not entirely sure what to list him as. Blue Dragoon? Dragoon Mage?

special abilities; Kimahri has the ability to absorb fiends abilities and attacks. This lends to his Overdrive, Ronso Rage. He carries with him now: Jump and Seed Cannon.

history; Right here!

personality; Kimahri is a person of few words. Filled with shame over losing his horn, which is a sign of great pride in the Ronso tribe, in a battle with Biran Ronso, he took on something similar to a vow of silence. He isn't completely silent, but speaks only to those he trusts and likes. Which is initially why he was hostile to Tidus when they first met because Kimahri neither liked nor trusted him. Gaining his trust is a difficult task. But once you have it, he is extremely loyal and you may even hear him speak.

His short stature and broken horn has but him at odds with the members of his tribe, particularly Biran and Yenke. They take every opportunity to remind him of what he has lost and ostracize him about refusing to acknowledge his defeat to Biran. He holds honor in high regard and because of this coupled with his shame, he has refused to set foot back in his mountain home, Gagazet. Despite this, he remains a fierce warrior as he was brought up to be in his tribe.

When it comes to Yuna, Kimahri is extremely protective. Where ever she is found, he is generally never far behind. His guardianship started long before Yuna ever became a summoner. He remained by her side at her request and now because of his own volition. He is more than willing to lay down his life for her and since their journey will take them over Gagazet, it may even mean putting his devotion to her over his shame.

point in canon; Directly after Kilika Temple
place of arrival; Dali

first person sample; Kimahri made promise to protect Yuna. It was the last wish of a dying man. So Kimahri will try. Will not fail, like failed on mountain. Yuna not worry. Kimahri will protect.

third person sample; Besaid was warm and something Kimahri was not used to. He found it difficult to walk through the sand and it made Yuna giggle when he nearly tripped. If the Ronso could blush, Kimahri would be a deep shade of red. He wasn't a fan of sand. It shifted far too much for his liking. But the warmth, the breeze and the fresh air. It felt good, he had to admit. So much different than the cold atmosphere back in Gagazet. If he could've been born in a place of his choosing, he would probably have picked here.

Yuna was up ahead, smiling and laughing for the first time since they had met. And he smiled too. She was so small and to think what she had to live through with the death of her father. His tail twitched as he ran to catch up with her. It only took a few long strides and he was behind her, scooping her up into his arms to avoid falling over the edge as she leaned over to to see where the waterfall ended. “Yuna careful,” he said.

She tangled her fingers into his blue fur as he shifted her around until she was on his back and her arms looped around his neck. Their journey continued until they reached the tiny village. Children were laughing and playing and Yuna wanted to join them. So he set her down, to let her run ahead and join in the game. He stood by the village's entrance and watched her silently. She was reluctant to go with him into the temple. But it was time. And he was ready to move on.

The temple's clergy were more than willing to take the child of the high summoner. But when he turned to leave, he felt her tiny hand, tugging to hold him in place. “Please don't go,” she said and he turned to look back at her. Her face had scrunched up and tears slipping down her face. “Please, Mr. Kimahri. Please don't go.”

And he didn't move, he turned to her completely and lifted her up into his arms. And as he walked purposely toward the exit, he ignored the call of the priest. He would take her back to the beach so she could see the water again and maybe learn what it meant to be free.
