I've NEVER liked Def Leppard. Never liked their songs, Never liked Hysteria, never bought an album...until now.
I HAD to. They covered one of my favorite bands, and if they were fans, perhaps I should re-think. Besides, I'd heard WATERLOO SUNSET on the radio along with a couple other songs and I liked what they did. So ... I bought the album.
We were in the car, Jeff pops it into the truck's cd player and the first song is ringing bells for me. "Is this a TRex song?" I ask.
Jeff gets out the CD and looks, "Well, my I NEVER KNOW THE BAND Queen, yes, it is!"
So then it became sort of a game..
Oh! That's a Blondie song!
Oh! Sweet! Roxy Music! ELO? David Bowie!!! Badfinger??? Thin Lizzy!
But the crown jewel in my crown? STAY WITH ME came on...Jeff says Rod Stewart and I say...AH AH! That was a cover of FACES! Rod the Mod and Ron Wood, two of the famous band members from that once previously SMALL FACES! So, technically, yes, Rod Stewart, but the band was called FACES. Jeff flips to the CD book and looks at me like the Goddess I am.
*shrugs* One of those things I picked up on VH1. LOL!
Listen to Waterloo Sunset!!!
