Ok as most people know I have been reading the Naruto Manga from the beginning. So you all know what that means. It's Caity defending the ShikaIno honor again. YAY! oh..not yay but still it's a reason to take notice. Especially to all you Out-of-your-minds ShikaTema fans out there...RAWRR to you! ShikaIno shall prevail!! Rawrrrr!!
Ok. Shikamaru and Ino really do belong together, and from what I've read it has seriously been hinted at, a bit more then a lot of other couples. Let me start at the beginning. The chuunin Exams. During the second test Ino jumps out to assist Sakure in fighting the sound. Ino doesn't ask Shikamaru or Chouji to help her, she does it on her own. She does this because even though Sakura is her rival she does care a lot about her and in my opinion to the point where Sakura is Ino's precious person. In seeing Ino run out, Shikamaru jumps out and pulls a struggling Chouji out with him. Shikamaru explains to Chouji that since Ino is out, they have to be men and not run away. Ino appologizes to Shikamaru that they had to get involved, but then explaining that they are a team and because of that they share the same destiny. Shikamaru Then tells Ino that they will get through this battle, confidently.
Ok you may ask why I mentioned this part, and I'll tell you why, because Shikamaru, the lazy bastard, got off his ass where he was safe and put himself out in danger to assist Ino, when if Ino hadn't jumped out, he would have been perfectly happy hiding in the safety of a bush. He did it out of instinct to protect a teamate, and not just a teamate, but a GIRL. Shikamaru hates girls, but he went out there to assist the one that he can most tolerate being around.
Ok next example, during the prelims, three things happen. First, Shikamaru watches every fight in the prelims, with everyone else, however he refuses to watch Sasuke's fight. During Sasuke's fight the look on Shikamaru's face is a VERY bitter one. Ok, secondly following Ino's fight when Sakura and Ino are passed out on the floor on the upper level, Shikamaru is the fastest runner to make sure that the two are ok, specifically, to make sure Ino is ok. He's a lazy ass and hardly runs for anything, unless he's running away from something. He was genuinely concerned for this girl, and seemed actually happy to find she was ok. He smiled. And finally for the third example...Ino cheers on very few people during the prelims...Sasuke of course, and Shikamaru. Yes I went back, she did cheer on Chouji, but not nearly as much as she did Shikamaru. And at that....She cheered Shikamaru on soo much Chouji even made a mention of it when he said "Ino sure is Cheerful" when Shikamaru went out for his prelim battle. Alright, that's it for the prelims...
Next comes the third test. During Shikamaru's battle with Temari, Ino is EXTREMELY excited. She cheers Shikamaru on the whole time, louder then Chouji, and she has extreme amounts of Faith in Shikamaru. She of course was upset when he forfeited, and found out Chouji was right about Shikamaru, but she cheered Shikamaru on with great amounts of enthusiasm, on par with enthusiasm for Sasuke. Another thing with the Third test is Chouji makes note on when Saskue goes on, and Ino cheers Sasuke on, Chouji says to himself "He's worked so hard, but she's already moved onto Sasuke....poor Shikamaru" this is the second time Chouji gives his reaction of Ino's actions around Shikamaru.
Alright onto the next things. When Shikamaru is with his dad, talking abut Tsunade becoming Hokage, Shikamaru explains how much he hates women. He invisions Sakura and Ino bossing people around, and says how he hates women. Shikamaru's dad explains to Shikamaru that without women there could never be men, and Men are no good without women around. Shikamaru's dad then went on to say that "Even the roughest woman is tender to the guy she loves" and that Shikamaru will understand when he grows up. Ino, though she bosses Shikamaru around, is very tender towards him, and she considers him someone that has gotten her and Chouji through everything that they've gone through already. She Acknowledges Shikamaru as someone who she can put her trust in, and even though she shows it in funny ways, she does see him as her friend. Also in the same chapter Ino remarks on how Shikamaru looks good in his Flak Jacket. Making it seem he looks attractive in it.
Not long after this chapter, is the Chapter where Ino and Chouji are talking outside of the boys' bathroom where Shikamaru is finishing up (washing his hands...MEANS HE TOUCHED HIS PENIS...sorry inside joke). Ino tells chouji she wishes she could be like him, in not caring what she eats. But she has to be on a diet because guys like skinny girls. She walks off and shikamaru pops out of the bathroom. He explains that Ino doesn't get it, and that guys don't want specifically skinny girls, but often he hears them say they want Stacked girls. Shikamaru then looks at Ino who is still walking away and remarks that She is one of a kind,which shows that to Shikamaru, Ino has aspects to her that set her apart from OTHER GIRLS, and Shikamaru hates girls, but doesn't hate Ino at all, though he may seem frustrated iwth her. Also he mentioned if she gained a little weight she'd be a lot more popular, which means he actually has evaluated her with that mindset on. Chouji then says that compared to Sasuke and Neji, that Shikamaru is far more incredible. THis may be a reference to the fact that Ino is so obsessed with the flashyness of Sasuke, she doesn't notice that Shikamaru is much better then him.
Ok...now that's about as far as I am in the manga. I'm a little further, but there is not much else there in where I am. So right now I'm going to put in some little tidbits of info that were interesting to me and my ShikaIno cause. All of team 10 wears the exact same earrings, Shikamaru and Ino have birthdays EXACTLY one day apart. Shikamaru's Height/Weight is the same as Sasuke's, except sasuke is .4 lbs heavier then Shikamaru. They have the closest Height/Weight out of all the genin. Very often Shikamaru is compared to Sasuke. And the only time boy/girl relationships is ever hinted at (besides girls having crushes, and Boys being...boys) is with Team 10.
Anyway I'm sure there is A LOT more that I'm skipping, but I'm not gonna go searching for the other things. Sooooo there is my ShikaIno rant....Teehee. Yay
