Barney Stinson
(How I Met Your Mother)
"You know what I do when i'm feeling sad? I stop feeling sad and feel awesome instead."
I initially started watching HIMYM because I loved Alyson Hannigan (and the second season just happened to be on TV), but I ended up loving Barney. I like all the characters, really, but Barney is just plain awesomeness. And is it possible to not love Neil Patrick Harris? Seriously?
Cara
(Legend of the Seeker)
"Funny how people always curse the mord’sith... until they need one."
I liked Cara from the start, but my love for her just grows bigger every episode. She's such a badass. I love how she fights, I love her pride, I love the sense of humanity she's developing. And I definitely can't wait to see what she'll do next.
Gwen Cooper
(Torchwood)
"That's what Torchwood does. It ruins your life."
Gwen did a complete turn-around for me in Children of Earth. She was actually my least favorite character of the first two seasons, but then the third season happened and wow. I can't explain it, but suddenly she was just much more awesome and much less annoying. She became my favorite (still alive) character of the bunch.
Miles Straume
(Lost)
"You're free to leave whenever you want. But I'll shoot you in the leg."
Oh, Miles. Where do I begin? He's my favorite character of all the LOST peepz. That love started in season four, and grew even more throughout season five. I love that he's kind of one of the only ones who doesn't go crazy or does stupid things. He actually thinks about stuff. He was the only one who realised they might have been causing the Incident instead of preventing it. And I hope he continues to rock in season six.
Shawn Spencer
(Psych)
"Dude, he's running! International sign of guilt!"
To be honest, I didn't like Shawn from the beginning. He constantly got Gus in trouble with his job, always so childish about things, was very unrespectful sometimes... But as the season went on, I got to know his character more and I was able to understand why he does what he does, and it made me enjoy the show much more. Now I know that he wouldn't get Gus into trouble if Gus just said 'no' to him (and he helped him get his job back), the being childish thing is just him (and it's part of what makes me love him), and he's actually more respectful than unrespectful and he's only the latter when the person deserves to be unrespectful to.
Topher Brink
(Dollhouse)
"Uh, sorry. I think we have a situation. The kind you need to shoot at."
As most people, I didn't like him from the beginning. He was a guy who only cared about himself and what he was able to do, and especially in the Dollhouse that's not a nice way of thinking. But as the episodes passed by, I just grew to love him. Oh, and then Epitaph One happened. I think I almost cried at the Topher/Adelle scene. Seeing him so broken and innocent really made me realize I love him. And now I'm absolutely loving his developing storyline in season 2. Just too bad it'll all be over soon. :(
