Audition
So i went to tobys dinner theatre on Monday for an Audition.
I was extremely nervous, but it turned out ok...i met a lot of people who were involved with the Cappies program, and that turned out to be an ice breaker. I asked them if they were going to the Gala, and they all said they were. There was this really nice girl there who saw our show You Can't Take It With You and she said it was really good. She comes up to me and goes do i know you from somewhere, you look so familiar. I was like.." ummm idk". Then she asked me where i went to school and i told her. She goes oh i remember you, i voted for your show to perform as a mainstage. Then she says that one girl who played penny was amazing, and she is really nice too.
Anyway, we all went in there, and they had us read. We read from Aida, and we did the scene twice alternating characters. Then we sat down and waited for others to show up. While the others were rehearsing their dry readings, we did our singing audition. My turn came around, and i gave the pianist my sheet music. I sang "why" from Tick Tick...Boom. after i got done the sixteen bars, they looked at me and said it looks like you were just opening up to us. can you keep going, which i knew was going to suck so i asked instead if i could sing my other song, which was "purpose" from Avenue Q. After i was done that they asked me which one i thought showed them more of what i was capable of. I said the second one, and they told me to find a new one to do instead of "Why".
I went back to my seat felling pretty good about myself because i thought i did really well, and when everyone was done they asked if i could stay after to read with a girl who had just came in. I didn't know if that was a good thing or not, but i took it as something that was good. I mean they asked me out of the 6 other guys that were there. But i am anxious to find out if i made it. I won't be mad if i didn't, but i will be extremely happy if i did!
