Fuck this country...excuse me language but seriously. The United States is killing the lady in a coma named Terri. They themselves are committing murder why? Because the husband doesn't want to deal with her anymore. I mean seriously guys the mother is begging for her survival, and the country doesn't even care!

listen up, you idiot. she has been in a coma for 15 years. FIFTEEN YEARS! and when her heart stopped in 1990, she lost enough oxygen to her brain for enough time that she has a minimal scan on the eeg, which is a measure of brain activity. she has enough brain activity to be declared legally dead, but her parents wanted to her to hold on when they are not her legally guardians. her husband is her legally guardian and lost a wife fifteen years ago. there is nothing of her left.

and let me explain another thing. its called a wake consciousness coma. after being on the ventilator for sometime while being in a coma, you start to have shifts of "sleep" consciousness and "wake" consciousness. during wake consciousness, your body makes involuntary actions such as calling out, blinking, or flinching. involuntary means NO CONTROL over her actions. it is not her decision to blink or yell, her body does it at random times with out a reason. however, when extreme pain is inflicted, she doesn't move an inch. because there's nothing left. in her persistent vegitated state, the only things that her brain can do are beating of the heart, breathing, digesting food, sleeping, maintaining body temperature, and detoxification and filtration of the blood (by the liver and kidney). She is just above brain dead, which is not being able to breathe on her own. but barely. And as much as her parents disagree, and they tried to release a video of her "laughing and trying to talk," any doctor would be able to tell you that she makes involuntary action and that she was not responding to any stimulus what so ever. her pupils do not react to light, all reflexes are gone, and there is nothing that can be done to reverse it.

while she did not have a living will, she discussed it with her husband before the accident. She is a vegetable. she did not want to BE a vegetable. it's not fair to terri schiavo.

And don't even say they aren't doing anything about it. The fucking senate is involved, you dumbass. They're obviously trying to do something, but frankly, its not their place to step in. she is in the husband's care. not in her parents care anymore. there is nothing to be done to reverse the effects and just because he's met a new woman and tried to lead a normal life in the mess of it all, he still loved his wife. yes, loved, as in past tense, his wife and does not want to see her suffer any longer.
And senate is so stupid that they sent a subpoena to terri. way to go.

its gotten past the point of hope in this case. the amount of damage is irreversible and she will not come out of it. there comes a point in time when the hippocratic oath must be interpreted as to causing the least amount of harm by ending a life. It is not Terri Schiavo lying in that bed. it is her body but the person inside is gone. and just because doctors can play god is no reason to punish her anymore by keeping her alive.
