Fred and Spike keep giving me these looks like I'm the crazy one. Well, okay maybe I have been acting a little off. But you try having the manpire you love tie you naked to the stairs, and we'll see how insane-o you start acting.
Plus there's that whole guilt thing that I've been dealing with. Angelus was on the loose somewhere in the city doing God knows what and it's all my fault. It's not like I didn't know that messing around with dark forces would have consequences. I did it anyways because I desperately wanted Angel back and not in Patrick Swayze form. I so did not get knocked up with evil demon spawn, go into comaland and then die just so Angel could mess it all up by getting himself deader than he already was. The world needed him, I needed him. And now I went and did something really stupid, and brought back his evil alter ego.
Unfortunately for me and everyone else I definitely wasn't a witch, and I didn't even know any witches except Willow. Considering Willow was still part of the gang of "we're slayers who are supposed to save the world but we mostly just turn our backs on apocalyptic battles' I wasn't about to call her to help us. That way just led to trouble. As soon as Buffy caught wind that Angelus was running wild in L.A. he'd have an entire army of slayers to contend with.
For now I had to find a way to keep us all safe until we can figure out how to reensoul Angel. Which by the way, needed to happen sooner rather than later. Where the hell was Wesley?
"Mmmmmmm Angel..." The furies moaned into the phone.
Right now I really really missed Lorne. I was no slouch when it came to schmoozing, but he was the King. Now it was all up to me, and I was on the phone with three girls who could only moan because Angel was a big ho, as I went through our spice rack. One homemade Sanctuary spell coming right up. It wasn't exactly a quick fix but it would keep Angelus from causing any trouble in the hotel. Unfortunately, it would also keep me, Spike and Doyle from being able to fight him. We still had Fred though, and Wesley assuming he still worked here.
I finished up on the phone with the furies after setting up the spell. Of course there was no way to tell whether it worked or not except for testing it. Where was Wesley again? I could test it on him cause hey, if it wasn't working I'd get to hit him and if it was then we'd know. But he'd only shown up long enough to witness me in my completely embarressing situation before running off again. I really needed to sit down and talk to him soon. I feel for him, I really do, he's my best friend. But frankly, he needed to get over this whole Illyria thing soon or else he wouldn't be doing anyone any good. Especially himself.
Either wasy I had to test it now, there was no time to wait for Wes to decide to show up to work again.
Walking out of the lobby and into the office I spotted Spike sitting near Fred.
"Spike." I said to him as I approached. "I need you to hit me."
He raised an eyebrow at me and for once could someone just do what I told them to?
"Would you just do it?"
